Beginner Rug Hooking with Hayley Perry from Loop by Loop Studio

An introductory course into traditional North American craft of rug hooking. Dating back to Victorian time, rug hooking recycles common materials into unitarian objects for the home. This course will teach the original technique used in rug hooking and allow you to create beautiful textile art pieces that will brighten your floors and walls.

Each student will work with the Loop by Loop Studio design of their choosing measuring roughly 8 x 8 inches. Hayley will cover topics from the history of rug hooking, supplies and equipment, the stitches you need to execute, and finishing.

Class price covers the cost of all materials, including a reusable rug hook and 12" quilting hoop to take with you. 

Typically, students complete about 50% to 100% of their project during class time. Students will be given lessons on how to finish their rugs in case they need to finish on their own.
